HydraFacial
What is HydraFacial treatment?
A multi-step facial that cleanses, exfoliates and nourishes the skin. A special wand delivers oxygenated, vitamin-rich water while lifting out dirt, oil, make-up and dead skin. It can be combined with peels, serums, LED light and toning devices.
What can HydraFacial treat?
Fine lines, wrinkles and oily or congested skin. It can also improve firmness and help with mild acne, brown spots and enlarged pores. It's gentle enough for dehydrated, sensitive or redness-prone skin.
Am I suitable for HydraFacial?
It suits most ages and skin types, but we check your medical history first. It isn't advised if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active rash, sunburn or rosacea in the area, or are allergic to any of the serums.
What should I do after HydraFacial?
Avoid strong sun and sunbeds, wear SPF 30 or higher every day, and use only sterile concealer or mineral make-up straight after treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Skin can feel tight for about an hour. More advanced treatments may cause mild redness or peeling, which settles within a few days.
Botox / Anti-Wrinkle
What is Botox?
A purified protein injected in tiny amounts into specific facial muscles to temporarily reduce the movement that causes expression lines. It is a prescription medicine and must be given by a qualified medical professional.
What can anti-wrinkle injections treat?
Frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines. They can also slim the jaw muscles and help with teeth clenching, excessive underarm sweating and migraines.
Am I suitable?
It works on lines that appear with movement, not deep lines present at rest. It isn't suitable if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection in the area, a neuromuscular condition, an allergy to the solution, or take aminoglycoside antibiotics.
Is it painful?
Most people feel only mild, brief discomfort — the injection is quick and uses a very fine needle.
How long does it take to work and how long does it last?
Results appear within 1–2 weeks and we review you at 2 weeks. Effects usually last 3–4 months; regular treatment maintains the result.
Aftercare
- No make-up for 4 hours
- Don't rub or massage the area for 72 hours
- No strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid lying down or bending over for 4 hours
- Paracetamol can be taken for a headache
Are there side effects?
Common: redness, bruising, swelling or mild irritation at injection points. Less common: infection, a drooping brow or eyelid, or asymmetry. Following aftercare advice lowers these risks.
Micro-Needling with PRP
What is micro-needling?
Very fine needles create tiny channels in the skin's surface, triggering the body's natural repair process and boosting collagen and elastin. We use the Derma Pen for this treatment.
What is the Derma Pen?
An automated micro-needling device with a vertical needle action. It helps skincare products absorb better and reduces discomfort and redness compared with older rollers.
Why add PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma from your own blood delivers growth factors and proteins that support skin renewal and enhance the micro-needling result.
What can it treat?
Enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and loss of firmness. Needle depth is adjustable, and recovery usually takes up to 4 days.
Am I suitable?
Most people are, after assessment. It isn't advised during pregnancy, with reduced immunity, an active infection at the site, or if you take blood thinners. Stop strong skincare 3–4 days before and fake tan 10–14 days before.
What happens on the day?
After consultation, the skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied for about 20 minutes. The skin is then disinfected and treated with the Derma Pen. A session takes about an hour.
How many sessions do I need?
We usually recommend four sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Improvement is often visible within a few weeks of the first.
Aftercare
- Skin may look sunburnt for a day or two — this is normal
- No make-up for 24 hours
- Avoid strong skincare until redness settles
- Avoid intense sun for 2–3 weeks and fake tan for 7 days
Dermal Fillers
What are dermal fillers?
Gels, most often made of hyaluronic acid, injected under the skin to restore volume and soften lines. Hyaluronic acid holds water and naturally declines with age.
What can fillers treat?
Nose-to-mouth (nasolabial) lines, mouth-to-chin (marionette) lines, and loss of volume in the cheeks.
Am I suitable?
Most people are, after a medical history check. Fillers aren't advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an allergy to the filler or lidocaine, or with an infection at the injection site.
Are fillers painful?
Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic and we also use numbing cream, so treatment is usually only mildly uncomfortable.
How long do results last?
Results are visible immediately; we review you at two weeks. Correction typically lasts 6–12 months and can be repeated.
Aftercare
- Don't touch the area for 6 hours
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms and strong sun until swelling settles
- Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours
- Sterile concealer or mineral make-up can be used straight away
Side effects
Swelling, redness, bruising or itching may occur and usually settle within 2–4 days.
Lip Enhancement
Why choose lip enhancement?
To add fullness and shape to naturally thin lips or lips that have lost volume with age. It can also soften fine lines around the mouth. Every plan is tailored to keep your lips in balance with your face.
Is it painful?
We use filler containing local anaesthetic plus numbing cream, and a dental block can be given for a virtually pain-free experience.
Who isn't suitable?
Pregnant or breastfeeding patients, anyone allergic to the filler or lidocaine, those with an infection at the site, or those taking blood thinners.
How long does it last?
Results are immediate and usually last 6–12 months. We review you at two weeks.
Aftercare & side effects
Avoid touching the lips or wearing lipstick for 6 hours, and skip aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours. Mild swelling, redness or bruising usually settles in 2–4 days. If you get cold sores, we can prescribe medication beforehand.
PDO Threads
What are PDO threads?
Dissolvable polydioxanone threads placed under the skin with fine needles. They lift and tighten skin and stimulate collagen, and dissolve over about 200 days.
What can they treat?
Facial and jawline lifting and contouring (smile lines, marionette lines, jowls), neck lifting, under-eye rejuvenation, adding soft-tissue volume, and a non-filler nose lift.
Who isn't suitable?
Pregnant or breastfeeding patients, those with a history of keloid scarring, autoimmune disease, active infection, current Roaccutane use, a lidocaine allergy, or those taking blood thinners.
Is it painful?
Local anaesthetic is used. Some people find it uncomfortable, but careful technique keeps this to a minimum.
What happens at the appointment?
A consultation with photographs and a detailed explanation. Treatment is done at a second appointment, when you sign the consent form.
How long do results last?
For lifting, the effect develops over 3–4 months and can last up to 12 months. For skin rejuvenation, improvement shows over 4–6 weeks. We suggest repeating yearly.
Aftercare
- No make-up or face creams for 24 hours
- Limit big facial movements for 1–3 weeks; sleep on your back for 3–7 nights
- Avoid hot drinks and hard foods for 48 hours
- No strenuous exercise for 1–3 weeks; no sun, sauna or sunbeds for 1 week
- Avoid alcohol for 3–7 days; use paracetamol, not ibuprofen, if needed
Side effects
Bruising, swelling and some asymmetry or puckering may occur and usually resolve within 2 weeks.
